The 1954 D/D/D rpm 1 is great
example of a triple punched mintmark.
The first punch mintmark was too high.
The second punch was too low. I guess
the last punch was just right.
The southern mintmark may not be
visible on later die states. Most
collectors prefer early die states clearly
showing all three D's.
