1958/7 and 1958/7 D Overdates ?
This Lincoln Cent variety exhibits what appears to be a 7 under the 8 of the date. In some examples
the alleged top right corner of the bar of a seven can be seen. There is also evidence of a 7 inside
the 8 of the date. Most experts now feel that this is nothing more than a die gouge or die scratches.
This variety was listed in the Breen book as #2223. Most examples sell for less than $10 due to the
disbelief that this is a true overdate. A 1958/7 D/D repunched mintmark Lincoln Cent also exists.
