"BIE" Lincoln Cents
The BIE error is named after a die break between the B and E in LIBERTY.  The thin area between the B and E
seems to be the most frequent part of a Lincoln cent die to crack off.  The letter "I" that appears to be between
the B and E is reason that the error is called the "BIE" error.  There are over 1500 types of "BIE" errors.  The
Majority of "BIE" errors occurred on Lincoln Cents dating in the 1950's.
